The collection consists of materials from a Roman Catholic family long distinguished in Los Angeles civic and social life. The holdings contain both textual and non-textual materials, including clippings, photographs, ledgers, ephemera, and correspondence. Exact provenance is unknown, which resulted in the division of the Dockweiler material into two separate holdings (see also: Dockweiler Family Collection, 1827-1996. CSLA-12).
